Eligibility Criteria

The Fund will award grants to support the social mobility of local young people aged 14 to 18 to overcome disadvantage and achieve their full potential in life.

Each award will enable and empower young people to access or prepare for employment pathways. For example, undertaking an apprenticeship, developing work experience or alternative educational experiences.

The maximum award is £2,000 except at the discretion of the trustees.

Grants are awarded on the basis of the “funder of last resort” – this means that where funding is not already available from public sources locally, regionally or nationally to support the young person.

Each award offer must be spent within one year of the award being made or the offer will be rescinded. Grant awards are to be used for expenditure that can be paid directly to a supplier by the charity rather than as a cash award to individual beneficiaries.
