Our Grants

The Fund

The aim of the fund is to extend opportunities to marginalised young people aged 14-18 living or educated in the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods of East Hull.

Eligibility Criteria

This area is located in the Local Authority area of Kingston Upon Hull and practically is defined as the land between the River Hull corridor and the Kingston Upon Hull boundary encompassing postcodes starting HU9 and parts of postcodes starting HU7, HU8 at the Trustees' discretion.

The Fund will award grants to support the social mobility of local young people aged 14 to 18 to overcome disadvantage and achieve their full potential in life.

Each award will enable and empower young people to access or prepare for employment pathways. For example, undertaking an apprenticeship, developing work experience or alternative educational experiences.

Applications

All decisions will be made by the Board of Trustees at two panel meetings each year initially in July and December or other such times agreed by the Board of Trustees.

Each award offer must be spent within one year of the award being made or the offer will be rescinded. Grant awards are to be used for expenditure that can be paid directly to a supplier by the charity rather than as a cash award to individual beneficiaries.

Suppliers of the awards will be validated under Safer Recruitment practices and on-boarded in Safeguarding prior to deployment
